Following an extensive evaluation process, Zurich City Police began using its first three fully electric vehicles at the beginning of 2021. These vehicles are in use by patrol and traffic services, and the chosen model is the Audi e-tron. Two of them are identifiable as police cars, while the third is a civil vehicle. Further electric vehicles are to follow – over the next two years, Zurich City Police are due to purchase new electric vehicles to replace the diesel vehicles used by the traffic police, some of which are as much as 15 years old.
