For Griesser AG, a company headquartered in Aadorf in the canton of Thurgau, a new era of mobility has begun. The manufacturer of sun protection equipment such as external venetian blinds, rolling shutters, awnings, facade awnings and the controls for these systems has decided to make its vehicle fleet emission-free and climate-friendly. In order to increase sustainability, all 400 company vehicles will be exchanged for climate-friendly electric vehicles by 2030. And, by 2050, the whole company will be climate-neutral.
As part of a pilot project, some of the sales rep vehicles and all service vans in the Lucerne region have already been replaced with electric cars. Operations in Lucerne and the surrounding area are now much more climate-friendly, cleaner and quieter, and save around 120 tons of CO2 and 45 000 litres of diesel every year. All of the electricity for the 560 000 kilometres driven annually comes from certified renewable sources. At the Aadorf site, Griesser will sustainably produce its own electricity for the entire fleet of sales rep vehicles by 2022.
The Griesser fleet of electric vehicles currently includes 5 VW ID.3 Pure Performance models, 15 VW ID.3 Tech Pro Performance models and 3 VW e-Golf models
