Audi was the first German car manufacturer to enter Formula E in the 2017/2018 season, taking over the starting spot from the ABT Sportsline team, which had been there from the beginning as one of the pioneers. ABT Sportsline continues to take part as the team for Audi’s e-tron race cars, competing under the name Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler. Daniel Abt scored the team’s first victory in Mexico in 2018, followed by another win back in Berlin later in the same season.
