Audi e-tron

Audi originally classified all models that were fully or partially electrically powered as “e-tron”, i.e. hybrid and electric. This approach was used until 2019, when Audi decided that the name e-tron would be reserved for fully electric cars only. The name was initially used for concept cars such as the Audi e-tron in 2009 and the convertible Audi e-tron Spyder in 2010. A new era began to take shape at Audi with these new fully electric cars. At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), the Ingolstadt-based company then presented the Audi e-tron quattro electric study, in series production since 2018. This was followed by the e-tron GT and Q4 e-tron concept cars, both of which are now on the market as standard models.
